NAS1097 rivets are a reduced-head countersunk rivet, manufactured in similar materials to the AN426 series. They should not be used in structural/tension applications. NAS1097 rivets are ideal for non-critical applications where they will primarily be subjected to shear loading and most commonly used to secure nut plates.
